Area 4 My Neighborhood My Cop Meeting

The My Neighborhood, My Cop meeting for area 4 (View Map) will be held on Thursday, June 25th at 6:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church, located at 2241 North Main Street. The purpose of the meeting is to get to know the officer for your neighborhood, Jordan Zamora, and your dispatcher, Christine Reel. The meeting is also to discuss any public safety concerns in your local neighborhood and answer any questions you may have. You can download a copy of the flyer from the following link. Asphalt Sealing and Crack Repair Bid Results

City of Prineville staff opened the 2009 spring crack sealing bids on June 18. The spring crack sealing project has identified specific streets that have a PCI (pavement condition index) that allows a maintenance technique that is much less expensive than a typical overlay. Identified streets in this project are located in the Southwest and Southeast portions of town. Bid results are as follows: Pavement Protectors: $24,747.25, Roger Longeliers Construction: $31,041.25, Knife River Construction: $39,606.25. Staff is recommending approval for intent to award the 2009 spring crack sealing project to Pavement Protectors for the amount of $24,747.25. [] 





Volunteer Academy

The Prineville Police Department will hold its first Citizen Volunteer Academy starting Wednesday, June 17th. The academy will run for one night a week for approximately one week. Volunteers will learn about criminal investigations, records management, dispatch, patrol procedures, defensive tactics, range training, and report writing. Upon graduation, volunteers will serve in various roles throughout the police department. The full press release and more detailed information can be found at the following link. 2009-2010 Budget Process

The Finance Department has released the 2009-2010 Proposed Budget Document.  Interim City Manager, Wayne VanMatre, delivered his 2009 budget address on May 12, 2009.  The City's 14 member budget committee convenes on May 19th, 2009 to begin budget deliberations.
