Divisions

The City of Prineville owns and operates a municipal water system which obtains water from several wells distributed over the system, stores it in ground level storage reservoirs, and distributes it to residential, commercial, industrial, and public customers within the City limits. 

The Wastewater Treatment Plant processes an annual average of 1,224,270 gallons of effluent daily from 3345 residents and 390 industrial accounts. The wastewater operation consists of influent processing of the golf course and over 350 acres of pastureland at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. 

Responsibilities Include
  • Routine road and bridge maintenance 
  • Road grading, shoulder work, sweeping and vegetation control. 
  • Patching and sealing paved streets. 
  • Installing, repairing and replacing signs, pavement markings and striping. 
  • Maintaining and repairing city bridges, guardrails and culverts. 
  • Winter maintenance (snow removal, plowing, sanding). 
  • Emergency response to street hazards and natural hazards. 
  • Contract management for pavement preservation and capital improvement projects.
