Applicant Information

Applications must be filled out accurately, completely and show clearly that the employment requirements listed on the job announcement are met. Information provided is subject to verification. Applicants are responsible for the truth of all statements. Misrepresentation, incomplete or inaccurate entries may result in applicant disqualification, removal from the eligible list or discharge from City service.

Notification

You will be notified at each step of the process including meeting minimum qualification requirements, testing schedules and results, interviews, and placement on eligible list.

Eligible List

Contains the names of all qualified candidates for classified positions according to scores received in the examination or supplemental questionnaire process. When an eligible list is established, the top names are shared with the department when they have a hiring need.

Employment Requirements May Include

Satisfactory completion of a City-paid medical exam by a City designated physician based upon job-related physical standards; fingerprints; police record check; psychological evaluation; drug screen; background investigation; or Department of Transportation (DOT) Drug & Alcohol Testing Program.

Probationary Period

Must be satisfactorily competed for all classified positions. The probationary period is regarded as a continuation of the testing process, during which time an employee may be rejected at any time without cause and without the right of appeal.

Veteran’s Scoring Criteria

Pursuant to state law, credit will be added to passing scores of qualified veterans who have submitted the appropriate documentations at the time of application (DD Form 214, Member copy 4).
