My Neighborhood, My Cop
|
Chief's Message:
I'm proud to introduce the "My Neighborhood, My Cop" Program. We're not doing something new as much as we're
getting back to some good old-fashioned ways of working with our community to solve problems. Simply put,
each neighborhood will have its own officer who will work on problems that affect the quality of your life.
Your neighborhood officer will work on issues of problem houses (drugs, litter, you name it), crime trends and
traffic problems (just to name a few!). We still want you to call 911 in an emergency and our business line
(447-4168) for day-to-day needs, but when there's a nagging problem, call, or email, your personal cop! We
hope to make every neighborhood in Prineville the best that it can be, but we need your help.
-Chief Eric Bush
Area 6
Your neighborhood officer is Tom Kurtz. You can reach
Officer Kurtz at (541) 447-4168 or at
tkurtz@prinevillepd.org. Here's a little information about
Officer Kurtz:
About Tom Kurtz:
I grew up on the East Coast and after visiting Central Oregon numerous times my family and I decided to call Prineville our home. I have always had a career in the Emergency Services and continue to love helping people. I enjoy the outdoors and I hope to take advantage of what Oregon has to offer.
What's the major problem facing our city?
I think a lack of Pride is a problem in Prineville. When you drive down the street you see many beautiful houses and then there is that one with junk around it. Many times we see crimes in homes lacking Pride. I believe we need to have Pride for not only OUR home but also OUR neighborhood and OUR city. If we are able to start small and clean up OUR neighborhoods then as a team we can clean up OUR city.
I hope that the "My Neighborhood My Cop" program will...
I believe this program will bring us together to strengthen the community by opening the communication between you and I so we can crack down on the crime.
